Winter haiku set

heavily laden with snow
pine branches
block the sidewalk



For Generalissimo:

winter apple tree
branches only full
of cats


For Kaylee:

afternoon sun
every little reflection
pounced on by kitten


around the neighbor's porchlight
we can see the snow falling

in the bare branches
four amber streetlights
and a slice of yellow moon


walking in the sun
stopping amazed
snow falling
from the branches
of the tree above us


even in the tire track
snow crystals
are sparkling


silent street
no school buses
brave the snowstorm
