Half-drowned
walking on flowers
feels like heaven

faraway music
white surf separates
black sea and black stone

Onomea Bay
locals climb the fence-
we are content
with the rocky beach

beautiful fish
right underfoot
hurrying to get my snorkel on

Punalu'u
so many tourists
black sand
crumbling cookie crust

a freshwater pond-
blue heron waits
